That’s who you need to think about when focusing your marketing and your message.
“I don’t know know my ideal customer.”
If you are just starting out, you may not have a clear picture of who that person is, but that’s OK. Start with what you do know and go from there. If all else fails, decide who you WANT to serve, and go from there. The main thing is understanding who you are talking to when you are telling your story.
“What if I choose the wrong one? What if I make a mistake?”
That happens more often that you might think, and in reality it’s not as big a deal as you may believe. Consider this, even those businesses that have been around for a while will sometimes change directions. When this happens, they just figure out who the new ideal customer is going to be and they focus all their attention on them. Eventually, the clientele shifts to the new audience and everyone is happy! In both situations, you have to re-assess who you are targeting create messaging that resonates with that person.
