All good things must come to an end
As I’d mentioned in my last two emails (if you didn’t see them no problem! Just check HERE and HERE) I have some big changes happening! Well, I’ve decided to leave the great state of Illinois and move back home to New Orleans!! YAAAASSSSS!!!! It’s time for me to be surrounded by old friends, good music, great food, and my loving family. My time as a Mid-Westerner is up. I guess ALL good things must come to an end, right?
Never Say Never
After thinking long and VERY hard, I decided that instead of having movers transport my furniture and car, that I’d move myself – After I’d told myself that I would NEVER drive cross-country again. LOL!!! I guess you should never say never, huhn? Well, I guess I showed me a thing or two.
I decided to rent a truck, hire some guys to load and unload the truck and get on the road. I took a leisurely 3 days drive to get home, but it was lovely. And there were some great stops in between.
Smooth Ride, Great People
On this journey, I stopped in St. Louis and spent some time with a couple great friends that I hadn’t seen in YEARS. I took some time to visit the arch and walk along the Mississippi River. Then I headed to Memphis. From there, it was home to New Orleans. There’s no place like it on earth! The ride was smooth. The company was fantastic. I’m very grateful to have met so many people along my life journey!! It makes trips like this more exciting and adventurous. And it makes for great memories!
Lil Gabby the Unicorn
Every great adventurer should have a trusty companion with them. For my journey, I have Lil Gabby. Lil Gabby was a gift given to me by my friend, Gabby (bet you never would have guessed that one, huhn?) Lil Gabby has been faithfully guiding me and sharing this with me since I got on the road. You’ll be seeing much more of her along the way, so be on the lookout!
We should all feel like our lives are a great adventure. There should always be something to look forward to when we wake up in the morning. For me, it is this next phase of adventures. The people that I will meet along the way and those that I will reconnect with are all a apart of this grand expedition. In the next several months, I will be traveling and having even more fantastic voyages because I’ve designed my life that way. It’s a liberating way to live.
