In 2018 and beyond, there is really no way around it. You absolutely MUST have a social media presence if you want to optimize your business’ success, especially as a newer business. Unless your target customer is a group of elders that don’t have access, skills, or interest in social media or the internet, it is imperative that you creat your presence online. If you don’t, you will only make it that much more difficult for your business to flourish.
What does it mean to have a social media presence?
Simple! Here are the 4 steps you need to take to create your business’ online identity:
Choose 1 or 2 platforms: decide which platforms your audience is most likely using on a regular basis and start sharing valuable, useful information with them. Don’t do more than 1 0r 2. If you chose correctly, it will be enough.
Be Consistent with the frequency of your posting materials so that your potential customers can know when to expect your valuable information. This will also help you to build trust amongst potential customers and they can knew that you have the knowledge and expertise that they want.
Choose Your Topic: Choose what your subject of interest is going to be then share about that. This helps you have direction in choosing what to post on your pages and it helps your potential clients know your area of expertise.
Enjoy It! I was recently talking to a colleague about blogging and she said that she wanted to do something that she enjoys. I AGREE! The topic that you choose and the subjects that you write about and share should be something that you enjoy. These are just extensions of your passion, so they should be created and shared passionately and with excitement! If you look at it as a chore, it will be much harder. If you see it as another opportunity to share information that you love with people that you want to work with, then you will have a positive experience every time!
